RAMBAN, Feb 11: Additional Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Rajni Sharma formally declared open Inter-district, UT level Chess competitions for Girls under all age groups at Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban here today.
Two days competitions being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in coordination with the District Administration which would culminate on February 12, 2021.
Chief Education Officer, Vinod Koul, Dy.CEO, Subash Sharma, District Youth Services and Sport officer, Dharmveer Singh, Principal of host school, Ranjay Kumar, officials from participating districts and a large number of sports lovers attended the function.
The DYSS informed that as many as 81 girls from 10 districts of both Divisions including 4 districts from Jammu and 6 districts from Kashmir division are participating in the competitions.
While speaking during the inaugural ceremony, the Additional SP appreciated the Youth Services and Sports Department for organizing such a UT level competition.
