Theft case solved, stolen money recovered

JAMMU, Dec 1: Miran Sahib Police today claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen money from her possession.
“Acting on a complaint regarding unauthorized/fraudulently withdrawal of money from complainant’s account through an ATM card which was stolen by some unknown person, a case FIR Number 145/2022 U/S 379/420/IPC was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started,” a police spokesman said.
He said to solve the case, SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh constituted a special police team headed by SHO Police Station Miran Sahib Inspector, who with the assistance of In-charge BPP Nari PSI Vinay Kumar rounded up a suspected woman with the help of CCTV footages of the suspected ATM where the transactions were done.
“During questioning, the woman identified as Kawaljeet Kour wife of Raghbir Singh, resident of Simbal Morh (RS Pura, Jammu) confessed her involvement in the theft case and on her disclosure an amount of Rs 84,000 was recovered from her possession,” the spokesman said.
Further investigation of the case was going on, he added.
