Theft case solved, stolen gold items recovered

REASI, Dec 16: With the arrest of accused, Reasi police claimed to have worked out a theft case. Stolen property worth Rs 2.04 lakh was also recovered.
Giving details, a police spokesman said that on November 21, one Babli Devi and her husband, Rajinder Singh, residents of village Seela, reported in Police Station Reasi that on the intervening night of Nov 20-21 both were not at home when theft was committed.
During night hours thieves broke opened their house at Seela and decamped with one gold Nath, one Tikka, one Mangalsutra, one pair of earrings, one ring, one pair of silver Payal worth more than two lakhs.
On getting this information, a case FIR No. 226/2021 was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigations initiated.
Police team rounded up suspects with the help of CCTV footage and identified one prime suspect. During investigations it came to fore that the said suspect was at Seela on the day of occurrence of crime.
He was identified as Kewal Singh, son of Kaka Ram, a resident of Gadhi, tehsil Thakarakote in Reasi. On the night of December 15, 2021 Police team raided and rounded up the suspect and put him to sustained questioning to which Kewal Singh confessed about the theft.
On his disclosure Police recovered the stolen gold and silver items worth Rs 2.04 Lakh.
