UDHAMPUR, Feb14: Acting swiftly, Udhampur Police worked out a theft case within 24 hours of registration of the matter at Police Station Ramnagar and arrested the accused besides affecting recovery of the stolen money.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey said that one Deepika Mehra, wife of Pardeep Kumar of W.No.11 Ramnagar reported at PS Ramnagar that some unknown thieves had stolen her purse containing Rs 1.05 lakh cash in it from her shop.
During the course of investigation, police team of PS Ramnagar, led by SHO Jaswinder Singh, under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur and Garu Ram SDPO Ramnagar, zeroed in some suspects and ultimately recovered the stolen purse along with cash of Rs 1.05 lakh from the possession of three accused women, namely Bimla wife of Mansa Ram, Jano wife of Dodi Ram and Vimla wife of Rosha. All three are resident of Seora, Jammu and were apprehended near Railway Station Roundomail . Further investigation of the case is going on.
