Theft case solved, accused arrested with stolen items worth Rs 2.5 lakh

JAMMU, Mar 26: Bakshi Nagar Police solved a theft case with the arrest of accused along with stolen items worth Rs 2.5 lakh.
As per police sources, on March 19 this year, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Bakshi Nagar by a man namely Ravi Arora, son of Anil Arora, a resident of Sarwal stating that some unknown thieves have stolen electronic items from his godown situated at Laxmi Nagar, Sarwal.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 51/2021 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Manjeet Singh and assisted by Incharge Police Post Sarwal SI Yougal Sharma under the supervision of SDPO West Amit Sharma did strenuous efforts and finally with the help of technical assistance and CCTV camera footage of the area arrested the thief, who was identified as Ankush Basur, son of late Amrit Lal of Rehari, District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen items including 5 Air Conditioners, 4 transformers, 1 inverter and 1 battery valuing around Rs 2.5 lakh were recovered.
Further investigation is going on to ascertain his involvement in other such cases.
