Indian politics , overall, is going in for diversifications which in the longer run may lead to writing new definitions for the term ”politics” , if not Political Science as such. Politicians , it is wholly not only agreed but believed in firmly too, that the be all and the end all for them is obtaining votes somehow and grabbing power. Yes, but the overall attire of ”Sewa” under which it all is feigned to be done is nothing but a masquerade for most of the politicians, exceptions are there but rarest of the rare . It all seems just like and akin to a street performer cum magician enticing general gullible public with promise to show the ”fight ” of the hooded snake and the mongoose and in the process consuming their time and freezing their attention and in the process saying all types of his brand of stories till he finally sells his brand of ”medicine” promising treatment of all or almost common diseases right from fighting dandruff to growing black hair on bald surfaces to fighting weak eyesight, constipation , acidity, bloating , obesity and what not . Most of the people watching the magician buy the ”medicine ” and the mild trickster collecting the money, hurriedly packs up his scattered and displayed things including the two of much focus and attention . People standing to watch are not only thus deceived which they realise only later but made to believe in and trust the gentle but witty hoaxer cum promise broker who approaches them individually with folded hands and usually with that villainous smile.
There were a few decades in the 20th century and slightly in the current one in most of the countries about studying , discussing and debating Marxism, widely considered as a reformist and even revolutionary social, economic and political philosophy and even a few countries adopting it as the basis of running their governments since the philosophy hovered around and accounted for the ”historic” economic mess , disparity and exploitation to and as a result of means of production owned and controlled by the wealthy ruling class with intent to growing wealthier at the expense of the ”toiling masses” or the proletariat. Not going deep into it, noteworthy feature is that this ”revolutionary” philosophy soon started withering away due to inherent contradictions and subsequent distortions not to speak of adopting most violent means to implementing the crux of this socio-economic political philosophy. It , however, ultimately resulted in getting confined rather shrunk to a few countries or parts of countries only and that too just in symbolic manner. Now, most of the politicians who happen to be in opposition, of course with some exceptions , are appearing to be studying Joseph Goebbels more than any other political theorist and writer and in the process, even by default, add into and expand his concept of propaganda and mastering of projecting lies into not only possibilities but realities too. Had it even stopped at that only, it would have been lamented less as in direct reference, freebies or ”Revadiyan” in a few places have brought dividends even much beyond the calculations of such type of political salespersons but it has now been supplemented by making prophesies and sharing with the audiences while wearing cosmetic smiles of planting confidence in the gullible listeners.
Had it all stopped even at that too but not – as written undertakings are also made on paper while publicly opening ”pittara” of some books , note books and statements claiming that the ruling dispensation was going out – lock , stock and barrel – and going to be replaced by that particular Party as there was all-round clamour for ”Parivartan” . Had it even stopped there only, it wouldn’t have made more mess and muck but percentages of defeat of the incumbents and jump of the soothsayer’s Party to absolute victory even, are worked out and disclosed. Again , had it stopped at that stage too- it would have not made the prognosticator any less taller , of course , till the projections made by the psephologists from different TV Channels in exit polls or finally when the results were out but not, as the three ”prominent” contestants – the projected head of his party’s ” government” , the local Party Chief and another functionary were declared by the said over enthusiastic and highly optimistic Boss of the Party as winning with heavy margins. Why should people in the audience not believe the political soothsayer who while projecting innocent face further declared that the ”IB” too had similar reports. However, it all proved an utter damp squib as we soon saw the reality which must have given ripples of surprise , tension and awe to the soothsayer though he worked hardest day in and day out. However, this too is a fact that had Goebbels been living around this time, he would have pleaded the said fortune teller to take him in his apprenticeship or as his student since he had really lot more to learn in this ”revolutionary” chapter of politics.
Touching in the meantime, next issue which is definitely not of any less importance, even if those in Congress Party may sarcastically heap words of mock on the Prime Minister of ”Lal Aankh Par Cheeni Cheshma ” etc over attempted intrusion of PLA troopers in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh only to get shocked and be chased away by our vigilant brave hearts which different quarters even internationally, starting from the general feeling of the public in our belligerent neighbour Pakistan , terming as ”beaten away” by Indian Army. The sensitive issue is raised by one of the (Ex) tallest leaders of the Congress Party Gulam Nabi Aazad who had been union cabinet Minister holding different portfolios in Congress led governments , the Chief Minister of the then Jammu and Kashmir State and now President of a new political Party Aazad Democratic Party. Discloses he, “The then Congress government at the centre took no action on a report sent by him as CM of the State about links of some Kashmiri political leaders with terror groups…..” He further says that the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the then Home Minister Shivraj Patil took no action on the said report sent by him. Strange and unbelievable, this.
It is not an ordinary statement to be brushed aside under usual rhetoric of “doing all to appease the BJP and the RSS” etc or “why he did not raise the issue in the Parliament ” etc as his critics feel. Unfortunately ,there are some leaders in the country who cannot pass their day peacefully and sleep without hiccups during night unless they attack RSS and BJP so much that Pakistan ”Foreign Minister” can muster courage in attacking and maligning the Prime Minister at UN Security Council bringing in the RSS etc . Bilawal Bhutto of Pakistan, a political novice, recently put his foot into the mouth in a highly objectionable manner reminiscent of hailing from an uncivilised mediaeval country. So much are their prejudices fed with renewed doses of tirade against the RSS from this country on regular basis that they vomit anything under the sky against this country, the BJP and the RSS.
During Bharat ” Jodo” walk , Rahul Gandhi of Congress recently demonstrated and taught a martial art trick saying “this is how I keep the RSS and the BJP away”. To these levels can plummet Indian politics is really reprehensible. Even malicious lies and falsehood were spread in respect of 26/11 worst terror attack on Mumbai and RSS was dragged into it. Had the brave son of the country – unarmed constable Late Shri Tukaram Omble not caught Ajmal Qasab alive while facing the volley of AK-47 bullets in his chest and abdomen , the manufactured theory of involvement of RSS, perhaps , would have remained uncontested and hence believed too by some vested interests. The great martyr Tukaram really did his country and countrymen proud with his unprecedented act of bravery for which we shall remain indebted to him.
Just link what the ex-Congress tall leader from Jammu and Kashmir said with how Batla encounter was projected sending waves of sympathies to the terrorists by whom and now recently Karnataka Congress Chief DK Shivakumar questions the Mangaluru cooker bomb explosion in an auto rickshaw last month mastermind being called as a terrorist as , according to him, it was ”a mistake” and not an act like Mumbai or Pulwama terror attack. What an opportunist and cheap analogy and comparison where ”quality” or extent of damage caused is the barometer of calling the ones involved as terrorists or mistake committers . Is it not an anti national stand just to extend conventional appeasement policy of his party with expectations of garnering votes? Right from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari, such denials could only embolden anti India forces from within and from outside the country. Khudi Ram Bose, Baghat Singh , Rajguru, Aazad , Sukhdev and hundreds of freedom movement heroes and thousands of our valiant armed forces martyrs have laid down their lives for this country not for shielding and protecting , if not praising the terrorists and enemies of this country.
