JAMMU, Nov 18: The Coffee Table Book—IIT Delhi, through Lens was presented to the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee by Dr Deepak Dogra, president, IIT Delhi Alumni Association.
The book illustrates the pictorial story of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, seen through the lens. Following an introduction, the book outlines the synthesis of photographs of various sections providing fascinating glimpses into the past and present of Country’s premier engineering institute.
All of this is accompanied by rare black and white photographs selected from various archives and colour photographs taken over many months during the year 2014 and 2015, which have never appeared in any other book.
In nutshell this book is a pictorial journey of IIT Delhi from its inception to the present day covering various facets ranging from history, students, faculty and alumni to architecture, sports, cultural and curricular aspects.
In the words of Padamshree Raghu Rai, the noted photographer, this book has managed to meaningfully capture the essence of what IIT stands for. He feels that the book has reflected in vivid colors and dynamic forms through the photographs the intensity of intellectual interactions and vibrancy of India’s youthful as semblance.
He has also commented that the strength of Archival photographs and introduction of the book fulfills the experience as if you have lived it all.
