JAMMU, June 15: As part of the public outreach programme, Thana Diwas was organised at Police Station Khour today.
A press statement said that SP Rural Rahul Charak chaired the programme along with SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma and SHO Khour, Inspector Rahul Mahajan.
It said that the programme was attended by Sarpanches, Panches, Numberdars, Chowkidaars, civil society members and other prominent citizens of Khour.
The participants attending the programme highlighted various issues of the public importance and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to police would be resolved on priority and those pertaining to civil administration would be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Rural Rahul Charak requested the participants to cooperate with the Police and the Administration in maintaining law and order in their areas. He also asked the locals present in the programme to help the police in identifying the anti-national and anti-social elements.
Issues related to drug addiction among youth and its preventive measures were also discussed threadbare in the programme.
The programme ended peacefully with people thanking the police administration for taking up the initiative.
