JAMMU, Jan 2: Various political parties condemned the terrorists’ attack at Air Force base at Pathankot and held the security lapses by Punjab police responsible for the same.
Strongly condemning the attack VHP State president Dr Rama Kant Dubey said hard steps needed to be taken to combat the cross border terrorism. He said the people of the country are having high expectations and hopes from present Union Government led by Narendra Modi and any lapse on its part will embolden the separatists and anti national elements in the country as well as terrorist organizations across the border.
Dr Dubey said some wrong decisions taken by previous Congress Government at Centre was the main reason for the present mess and increasing terrorist activities in the country. In this regard he said that Sema Suraksha Bal (SSB) was established during China war in 1962 and the main task this force was assigned was to guard borders and maintain a link with people living along border belt and keep them abreast of the activities going along the both sides of border. But 20 years back the assignment of this force was changed with the result that borders have become free for all and infiltrators activities could not be curbed.
Dr Dubey said had the SSB been in place with its previous assignment the Fidayeen from across border would have not managed to sneak this side to make an abortive attempt on air base.
He said the new Security Advisor is however fully abreast with the situation and it is hoped that he will look into this issue. Dr Dubey also suggested that a force of border people be established to guard the LoC as well as IB from Gujarat to J&K so that the designs of Pak intruders are frustrated once for all.
He also suggested that the sensitive points on IB and LoC be fully sealed and the grass along lOC and IB be also cut so that any movement of intruders becomes fully visible.
Chief patron of National Panthers Party (NPP) Prof Bhim Singh condemned the terrorists’ attack on Air Force Base in Pathankot. He said that the Modi Government should bring out a white paper on the entire shocking attack by half a dozen armed terrorists at Pathankot Air Force Base which is bordering Jammu and Kashmir.
He demanded immediate meeting of the National Integration Council of India to discuss the situation that has surfaced in the Indian continent endangering peace and tranquility in the region.
To express their anguish over the terrorists’ attack at Pathankot, the activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) led by its president Sunil Dimple took out a protest rally.
The protesters burnt the Pakistani flags and leaders of various terror organizations. While speaking, Dimple said that India should not hold any talks with Pakistan in future and give a befitting reply to the Pakistan.
Among others present were Sham Saroop, Ram Kapoor, Raman Gupta, Ashok Khana, Raju Kapai, Vipan Mukesh, Rakesh, Dev Raj Chalotra, Kulwant Sharma, etc.
Shiv Sena (Bala Sahib Thackery) condemned the terror attack on Air Force base at Pathankote by Pakistani militants. While talking to media persons here, State President of the party Dimpy Kohli said that in this deadly attack our two security officers and one Air force Commando lost their lives as Pakistan has done it again as they have done in Kargil in the past.
He appealed the Government of India to seal its border adjoining Pakistan and with immediate effect stop train service from Wagah Border and also bnoycott business relations with Pakistan at Chakka-Da-Bagh in district Poonch and Rawlakote.
He also advised Govt of India to call back its Ambassador from Pakistan so that a strong message can go through entire world. Those present on the occasion were Rakesh Gupta, GI Singh, Sandeep Bhagat, Raj Singh, Raju Salaria, Kul Bhushan, Arun Sharma, Radhey Radhey Maharaj, etc.
Senior Congress leader and member Civil Society Kishtwar Shamsher Singh Bhandari has also strongly condemned the Fidayeena attack in Pathankote and termed it a major security lapse on the part of Government. He said the government claims have proved hollow to contain terrorism in the State. Bhandari said that Government should take a bold stand and curb the activities of cross border terrorists by activating security and intelligence agencies.
