NEW DELHI : Terrorism has invariably left a trail of death and destruction on the world in 2014 but the December 16 deadly attack on a school in Peshawar that claimed 132 innocent lives, has left the world shattered. The student of an Army School in Peshawar were gunned down by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants after being taken hostage.
It is an irony that the same terrorists whom Pakistan raised and trained only to fulfil its malicious desire, are now haunting it.
People died in deadly terror attacks in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Somalia and several countries of Africa. The year 2014 also witnessed several abductions followed by their inhuman executions.
Boko Haram in Nigeria, al-Shabab in Somalia, Islamic State in Iraq besides al-Qaeda and Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan throughout the year created havoc across the world. Terrorists of Islamic State (IS) crossed all limits of cruelty and devastated the human society to a large extent. They have not only beheaded two American journalists but dozens of Kurdish and large number of Syrians too.
To send a message of their cruel designs to the world, these terrorists also posted the video of their savage act on the social media.
They even tried to eliminate the Yazidi community, but with the counter attack by the American air ships, the savage plan of executing a select community could not take place. (AGENCIES)
