TERI holds seminar on Promoting Innovation and Youth Participation

JAMMU, Jan 22: The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) organized a youth seminar on “New Ideas for a New Tomorrow-Promoting Innovation and Youth Participation” in collaboration with State Social Welfare Board, Higher Education Department and JKEDI at Jammu here.
On the occasion, VC, State Social Welfare Board Khemlata Wakhloo was the chief guest.
Around 15 to 29 students participating in the event would be selected to attend National Yuva Meet at New Dehli and would be further selected for participation in international workshops.
Speaking on the occasion, Khemlata Wakhloo emphasized upon the organizers to ensure maximum participation of State’s youth in this significant programme and hold such programmes on regular basis in the State.
She said that this workshop would prove to be a long term corrective measure which will help channelize youth energy in a right perspective.
“The youth has the power and potential to bring about social, cultural and political renaissance and the need only is to optimally utilize that in a right direction”, she maintained. She said that the world is lurching in numerous challenges which can be fought only if the youth of the nation is strong and equipped.
Director, TERI, Ranjana Saika, prominent social activists, Rita Jitender and Kiran Bakshi besides other officers of SW Board, Higher Education and JKEDI and volunteers of TERI also expressed their views. Secretary JAKSSWA Aamir Ali also spoke on the occasion
