LOS ANGELES, Dec 24: Former “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teresa Giudice, who was sentenced to 15 months in prison in January, has been released from Danbury Federal Correctional Institution in Connecticut.
Giudice was out after just 11 months, on December 23, reported People magazine.
Her lawyer James J Leonard, Jr said following mandatory release paper work and procedures, the reality star was released from prison early in the morning. “She is free,” James said.
A source from the site said Giudice “was thrilled that she was finally going home.”
The source added, “Prison was tough for her, but she made the best of it. She couldn’t wait to get home to Joe and the girls from the minute she set foot in prison. She is so happy and grateful that she is able to be home with them, for Christmas, no less.”
Giudice and her husband Joe pleaded guilty in March 2014 to multiple federal fraud charges including tax fraud, bankruptcy fraud and mail fraud.
Joe will begin his 41-month sentence in March 2016 at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey. Their sentences were staggered for their children’ sake. (PTI)
