MENDHAR, July 7: Tension gripped the township of Mendhar today as the local administration assisted by strong contingent of police stalled the construction of a religious structure on the Government land here.
SDM, Rahul Yadav and SDPO Mendhar , Riaz Tantray immediately intervened after situation became tense with the possible clash between the two groups. While one group intended to continue work of a religious place in the town on Khasra No. 555 / 2103 while the other group was opposing this construction. They also alleged that this structure was being raised on the Govt land. The other group claimed that it had been purchased from a private party.
After coming to know about the matter, the SDPO, SDM and Tehsildar Mendhar arrived at the spot. The Revenue officials scrutinized the record and found that the land belonged to the State. They stopped the work and their staff dismantled some plinth being raised there. The possible clash was also averted.
