JAMMU, June 25: A 10- day long children theatre workshop for wards of the employees of University of Jammu, concluded here today at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, JU.
JU Vice Chancellor, Prof R D Sharma, who was chief guest during the valedictory function, said that new dimension has been added to the campus cultural activity. This is the age of investment and the more the efforts children give, more they flourish and to make that possible more efforts parents have to put in, he explained.
In this workshop, around 60 children took part and utilized their holidays in a productive manner.
A short play ‘Buddhu Ram Ki Kahani’, prepared during this workshop, was also presented on the occasion.
Earlier in his welcome address, Prof Pankaj K Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare, appraised about the idea of conducting such a unique workshop within the campus. Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, presented the formal vote of thanks.
The children who participated in the play ‘Buddhu Ram Ki Kahani’ which was based on a folk tale and designed by Sumeet Sharma, were Tushar Mahajan, Kalyani Singh, Yashaswani Raje Manhas, Petunia, Stuti Saigal, Hemanish Tripathy, Damini Sadotra, Lakshita Singh Chib, Dixit Gupta, Viplav, Niyati Gupta, Anvita Gupta, Nikhil Sharma, Nakul Sharma, Smarth Gupta, Surpreet Singh, Vandaanya Salathia, Avilash Shawney, Kritagya Shawney, Saksham Sharma, Arnav Chaku, Manya Dogra, Sohi Sharma, Parika Bhagat, Zaheer Abbas, Mohd. Aftab, Khushi, Raahat, Vivek, Shambhavi Sharma, Swardhani Sharma, Sanyogita Saini, Kamya Langer, Saksham Bharti, Yashwi Sharma, Kartikaya, Ila, Aimen, Hamza, Devam Anthal, Kartik, Pooja, Arafat, Satyam, Anirudh and Arshiya. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur.
Among others, Prof B C Sharma, Dean Placement, Jai Kumar Sharma, Sp Sec to VC, Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director, SHTM, Dr Sanjay Sharma, parents and participants were present on the occasion.
