POONCH, Oct 25: With the arrest of three youth, the police claimed to have solved several theft cases which took place in Poonch city and surrounding areas in last several weeks.
A police spokesman said that based on some clues, the police party from Poonch arrested one Akash, son of Vijay Lal, resident of Old Poonch, Neeraj Kumar Sharma, son of Vijay Kumar of Jallas and Azim, son of Saqib Ahmed, resident of Khori Nad and placed under sustained interrogation. They broke and confessed their guilt. They also revealed that they had stolen donation boxes from the temples in the area.
The police also recovered stolen money worth Rs 17000 from their possession. Some stolen gold and silver from temples is yet to be recovered from them. A case was registered against them and further investigation was in progress.
