SRINAGAR, Mar 3: Meteorological office on Friday predicted isolated to scattered light rain or snow during the next 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir.
Most parts of Kashmir valley including Srinagar received rainfall during the past 24 hours resulting in drop in temperature even though the weather is mostly overcast on Friday.
An independent weather observer Faizan Arif said that the weather is likely to remain dry today with a slight chance of a passing shower in some areas during the second part of the day. He said the day temperature is expected to hover around normal today.
Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature at 6.7 degree Celsius on Friday against 7.0 degree Celsius on the previous night. It was 4.3 degree Celsius above normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Qazigund had a low of 5.6 degree Celsius against 5.5 degree Celsius against the previous night and it was 4.7 degree Celsius above normal while Kokernag recorded a low of 4.8 degree Celsius against 5.0 degree Celsius against which was 4.0 degree Celsius above normal during this period of the season.
Pahalgam recorded a low of 1.7 degree Celsius against 2.4 degree Celsius a day ago and it was 4.0 degree Celsius above normal for the famous resort of south Kashmir.
Gulmarg plunged to minus 0.6 degree Celsius against 0.6 degree Celsius on the previous night and it was 3.9 degree above normal for the famous ski resort in north Kashmir.
Kupwara recorded a low of 4.2 degree Celsius against 5.1 degree Celsius on the previous night and it was 5.2 degree Celsius above normal for the frontier district of Kashmir valley, the MeT office said.
