KATHUA, Oct 31: A teen-ager was crushed to death while a girl ended her life by hanging herself with a ceiling fan in two separate incidents in Kathau district today.
According to police, 16 year old Chandu Ram, S/o Ganesh Dutt of village Dalhoti falling under the jurisdiction of Rajbagh Police Station was crushed to death by a private school bus bearing Number JK08 C-5503 when the driver was reversing the bus.
Police said while the driver was reversing the bus the ill fated boy was standing behind it and the driver who was without a helper could not see the boy and crushed him.
The boy was rushed to District Hospital Kathua where the doctors declared him as brought dead. The Raj Bagh Police has seized the bus and arrested its driver Vikram Chand. The police has registered a case under Section 279/304 RPC against him.
The body was handed over to family members after postmortem for cremation.
In another incident a girl hanged herself to death at her residence in Kalibari area of Kathua. She has been identified as Radha, 24, D/o Chand Ram. Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 174. The dead body was handed over to parents after postmortem for cremation.
