Technical requirements discussed for courses in UIET

KATHUA, July 7: Gearing up for setting  the University Institute of Engineering and Technology  (UIET) at Janglote, Kathua, a team led by Prof Naresh Padha, Co-ordinator, UIET, University of Jammu, visited the construction site, here today.
The team,  comprising Xen  RUSA, G L Dogra, AEE RUSA Atul Bakshi, AEE JKPCC Satvir Singh, Architect Cum Consultant B V  Sharma and Dr Vivek Sharma, Academic Co-ordinator and others,  visited  construction site of  the building of UIET  and discussed the technical requirements for the various engineering courses to be run at the Institute. Instructions were passed to create necessary provisions in the construction of the building as per the requirements of the institute.
Further, the concept of Green technology and self sustainable provision are being incorporated in the design. The drawing of the project  in view of the courses to be setup were discussed. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year and to be handed over to the University for the next Session 2018-19.
Meanwhile,  the University is making all preparations to make admission and run class work in two  Engineering disciplines i.e. Computer Science Engineering and Civil Engineering from the current session in a make shift arrangement by hiring a suitable accommodation. The University proposes to include three more branches i.e. Electronic and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering soon after the UIET building is handed over to the University .
The formal sanction for creation of a UIET as constituent college was accorded to JU nearly two months back vide order : HE/Coll/Engg/Uni/ 116/2016 Dated 12/05/2017 A formal notification for admission to these courses is being issued by the University in a couple of days.
