JAMMU, Dec 18: As the visiting Medical teams detected some skin disorder among a few children in Dhanour and adjoining villages in tehsil Arnas of Reasi district, where two minor sisters had died because of unknown ailment on last Friday, another team of senior doctors is being dispatched to the area for further scanning.
Director Health Service, Jammu, Dr Samir Mattoo told the Excelsior that a team of senior Consultants, comprising Dermatologists, Pediatricians, Microbiologists and others was being sent to the area as some skin disorder was detected among 16-17 children in the village even as their necessary immunization had already been done as precautionary measure.
The skin disorder (rashes) was detected by the Medical teams from Directorate of Health Services Jammu and District Hospital Reasi, which visited Dhanore and examined the suspected patients on Sunday.
The Medical team administered antibiotics to the suspected patients, which yielded positive results and a report in this regard was submitted today to the Director Health Services. The team has already ruled out spread of diphtheria in the area.
Meanwhile, a minor cousin of the deceased sisters, who is admitted at GMC Hospital Jammu and has been kept under constant observation after she developed symptoms of fever and skin rashes, is reportedly responding to the treatment.
As already reported, mystery shrouded the death of two minor sisters because of an undiagnosed disease in far-flung village Dhanour on last Friday thus prompting the District administration of Reasi and Directorate of Health Service Jammu to be on alert and sending special medical teams to visit the hamlet for checking any possible epidemic.
