Srinagar, Jan 15: Scores of in-service teachers today held protest demonstration against IGNOU for cancelling their two scheduled paper as a part of their B.Ed degree which they were pursuing from the University.
The teachers said that two papers were scheduled on January 7 and 8, due to the reasons which they were not informed about. Both the papers were a part of their last semester of the degree
“We are protesting against the IGNOU today for unwarrantedly cancelling our papers; we got a message that these two papers stand cancelled and we were not given the reason that led to the move,” said Shakeel Ur Rehman Mir, a teacher from Budgam.

As per the protestors, around 27000 such teachers are undergoing the degree from the IGNOU and everybody has been left in lurch. A similar sort of protest was also held in Jammu where the teachers protested against the move.
The teachers demanded that the higher ups should intervene into the matter and should get their issue resolved as soon as possible. “They are literally playing with our career and we appeal LG GC Murmu to look into the matter,” they demanded.
