Teachers Joint Action Committee seeks redressal of issues

JAMMU, Jan 30: A virtual meeting was organised today by Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma to discuss burning issues of the cadre.
The meeting was attended by executive members and District Presidents of Jammu province. While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised issues of the teachers and sought the attention of the concerned authorities for redressal of the same.
The issues which were raised by Vinod Sharma included comprehensive Transfer Policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme, transition of Teachers Grade II/III on substantive posts as per seniority, inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits, DPC of teachers to Masters as same hasn’t been done since February 2014, conversion of Head Teachers (SSA) posts into non plan posts of Masters for the resolution of their salary issue and raising of Grade pay of teachers at par with their counterparts in other UTs.
Vinod Sharma also appealed the LG administration to provide old pension scheme in favour of NPS employees of the UT so that their post retirement life may not be in trouble.
Others, who spoke in the meeting, included Aftab Malik, Surjit Singh, Najam Jafri, Sham Sharma, Arvind Sharma, Sukesh Khajuria, Rajesh Singh Jamwal, Mahesh Kumar, Raj Kumar Dubey, Anita Kiran, Rishi Singh Rana, Naseer Ahmed Bhat, Subash Chander, Javid Bali, Joginder Thakur, Lekh Raj Parihar, Sajad Malik, Manzoor Khan, Rakesh Singh, Syeed Shah Nawaz, Dinesh Singh, and Hari Lal Nag.
