Teachers Guild highlights demands

JAMMU, May 3: An urgent meeting of Teachers Guild Jammu and Kashmir was held to discuss various burning issues of School Education Department pertaining to the teachers community in particular and students community in general.
The meeting was chaired by its State president Nasir Ahmed Qureshi and attended by members of the executive council, zonal councils and different cells.
The meeting discussed the issues and demands like filling up of vacant posts of Headmasters, Zonal Education Officers and Principals, release of pending liability on account of non MT for the pay of February, removal of pay anomaly of Master grade, release of pending salaries of teachers fraternity under SSA, RMSA and New Pension Scheme, reorganization of educational zones, rationalization of surplus teaching staff, full maternity leave in favour of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers, transfers of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers, sanction of dislocation allowance to teachers serving in rural areas, enhancement of medical allowance, formulation of clear cut transfer policy, upgrading of primary and middle schools,  disposal of time bound promotion cases, publications of seniority lists for Headmasters and Lecturers in different streams and identification and removal of corrupts and deadwoods of Education Department at all levels.
Vijay Kumar Sharma, State general secretary of Teachers Guild said that there was inordinate delay in the filling of vacant posts of Headmasters, Zonal Education Officers and Principals.
Nasir Ahmed Qurashi, State president of Teachers Guild, urged the Education Minister Naeem Akhtar to arrange and release the funds for salaries of Teachers, Masters and Rehbar-e-Taleem working under SSA, RMSA and New pension Scheme.
