SRINAGAR, Sept 6: J&K Teachers Forum has announced to hold protest demonstration in front of Civil Secretariat in September 16 if the pending salary of teachers under SSA and RMSA is not released by then.
Decision in this regard was taken during an extra ordinary meeting of J&K Teachers Forum, held under the chairmanship of EJAC president and chairman J&K Teachers Forum, Abdul Qayoom Wani for discussing the acute problems being faced by teachers under SSA and RMSA, whose salary has not been released since months.
The meet observed that due to non-payment of salary, situation has arisen to the level where families of the teachers are virtually at the verge of starvation. Children of these teachers are being expelled from schools and their social life has become a burden, said Mr Wani and added that in the tussle of Center and the State Govt, the teachers were suffering.
Ab Qayoom Wani urged the Chief Minister and Education Minister to take immediate step to ensure the release of pay before forthcoming Eid, otherwise thousands of teachers will stage protest demonstration in front of Civil Secretariat on September 16 and the responsibility shall squarely lie on Government, he warned.
