Teachers Forum highlights demands

JAMMU, Dec 30: A meeting of General Line Teachers Forum Jammu was held under the chairmanship of  Neeraj Sharma, State president in which the various issues concerning teaching community were discussed.
The Forum demanded removal of  pay anomalies of teachers who are still in 5200-20200 scale with grade pay 2800 whereas their counterpart ASI (JKP) and JE etc are in revised scale of 9300-34200 with grade pay 4200.  Immediate adjustment of  newly promoted teachers as Masters was also demanded.
The Forum president alleged that much damage has been done to the Department by the outgoing  Minister in connivance with corrupt officials at the helm and now it is time to take up the measures to retrieve the lost image of teaching community and Education Department.
He also urged the up-coming Government  to appoint educated and honest person in Education Ministry as well as Department to bring the education system back on track.
The general secretary of the Forum,  Daleep Kumar Digra, also spoke on the occasion and opposed the outgoing Government’s decision of including  5 years of temporary service in favour of ReTs for promotion benefits and  transfer policy, which is the total violation of ReTs scheme. He urged the upcoming Government  to see through these issues at priority.
Others, who were present in the meeting, included Kiran Pandita, Digvijay Singh, Kailash Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, Tajinder Singh, Amit Dabgotra, Naresh Manhas, Aman Joshil, Hardev Singh, Sunil Singh, Dr  Sudesh Sharma, Hemant Sharma and  Mukesh Sharma.
