Teachers Federation apprises DyCM of pending salary, other demands

POONCH, Dec 22:  A delegation of Poonch unit of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF), led by Darshan Kumar (district president) and Fayaz Arzoo (district vice president), called on Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh during his visit here today and apprised him about various issues concerning the teachers, especially the non release of salary under New Pension Scheme (NPS) and SSA.
The Dy Chief Minister was apprised that hundreds of Teachers and Masters of Poonch district under New Pension Scheme (NPS) and SSA have not received their salary for the past over 6 months, which was causing a great inconvenience to run their families.  The delegation demanded immediate release of the pending salary to the Teachers and Masters.
The delegation  also highlighted other demands, including  reorganization of  the department, creations of new Education Zones, keeping  teachers free from assignments other than teaching, proper implementation of transfer Policy, permission for higher studies to equip the teaching community, need to review the result bar criteria for annual increment, timely issuance of annual Calendar/Syllabus, visit of higher officials at root level,  teachers of all subjects at the schools, implementation of Central schemes in toto in J&K, proper representation in Trainings/Refresher courses in and outside the State and  check on illegal mushrooming of private schools.
The Federation also demanded Vigilance probe into the transfers of Teachers and Masters in 2016 violating the transfer policy.
Dr Nirmal Singh have a patient hearing to the members of the Federation and assured to take the issues with the Director School Education Jammu. He also assured for early redressel of their demands.
The delegation comprised of Anoop Sharma, Gurvinder Singh, Neetan Sudan, Amarjeet Singh, Dr Dharminder Shastri, Sunil Kumar, Ajeet Sharma, Dalvinder Singh and Ashish Gupta.
