Teacher’s Day celebrated

JAMMU, Sept 4: Teacher’s Day was celebrated with zeal and fanfare.
SS Sodhi, Chairman, J&K Intellectual Civil Society, New Delhi held a meeting with all the members of the civil society, prominent citizens, children and others and celebrated the Teacher’s Day with full enthusiasm.
Sodhi stated that the Teacher’s Day is celebrated all over India on 5th September every year because Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Former President of India was initially a teacher and born on 5th September. He was a great person, philosopher, educationist, humanist religious thinker and above all loved the teachers community because they are the nation builders and make the career of all students.
The Chairman further stated that teachers, the pillar of strength draft destiny of the world. The service, duties and responsibilities undertaken by teachers are immense, and thus deserve to be recognized and appreciated.
Shiksha Niketan Gandhi Nagar celebrated Teacher’s Day. Brigadier Harcharan Singh Director Rajya Sainik Board J&K was the chief guest on the occasion. The members of Bharat Vikas Parishad were also present on this occasion. In this function, the toddlers of Pre-Primary Wing presented a beautiful welcome song. While speaking, Harcharan Singh advised the teachers that they have to play an important role in the future building of students and also building up a strong nation. On the occasion, Principal Sir Rameshwar Mengi along with the chief guest distributed the Gifts among the teachers. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by the Principal of the school.
RM Public School conducted poem recitation activity on the theme ‘Teacher’s Day’. The students of class 5th along with coordinators Gurpreet Kour and teachers participated in it. Trustee Rita Mengi also participates as a judge in the activity. The students pay respect to their teachers by reciting the poems. The students give hand made bouquets and cards to their teacher as a token of love on the Teacher’s Day.
“Pushp Vatika” celebrated Teacher’ Day with great zeal and fervour. ID Soni was the chief guest on the occasion, while Principal of the institution Rameshwar Mengi, Managing Director Rakshan Mengi and other guests from different sister concerns were also present. Various cultural items were performed by the kids of Pre-School Pushp Vatika. Rameshwar Mengi, Principal of the school distributed gifts among the teachers in presence of the chief guest to make the occasion more special.
