MENDHAR, May 15: Ali Hussain Shah, teacher Govt Middle School Sakhi Maidan has been placed under suspension for severely beating up 8th class student Altaf Hussain and breaking his arm.
An official spokesman said that SDM Mendhar, Shafiq Ahmed on the directions of DC Poonch placed the teacher under suspension and initiated an inquiry. A three member inquiry committee led by Dy CEO Poonch and assisted by First Class Magistrate will conduct an inquiry and submit a report within a week. The District Administration has taken serious note of brutality of the teacher who crossing all limits of corporal punishment, displaying a revengeful attitude, severely beat up a poor 8th class student.
The boy identified as Altaf Hussain, son of Khaliq Hussain, is the student of Govt Middle School, Sakhi Maidan and belonged to the same village. He was beaten up so mercilessly with the strong stick that the minor boy developed fractures on the left arm and was later removed to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar by the parents and relatives. The boy was today referred to District Hospital, Rajouri.
Though a Medico Legal Case (Under MLC No. 1654/13 ) was made and forwarded to the Police Station Mendhar for further action by the Medical Officer concerned, yet police has to act in this regard.
The only fault of this little boy was his refusal to work at the house of teacher Ali Hussain Shah of Sakhi Maidan, which was under construction. His father too, did not oblige the teacher for this favour. Displaying this revengeful attitude, the teacher then picked up a strong stick and asked the boy to keep standing in the open in `Murga’ posture on the ground. After this, he started beating up the boy in front of entire school staff and children. It has been learnt that some teachers and relatives of the accused, were trying to influence the parents of the poor boy.
