Teacher goes on protest leave after verbal duel MLA

RAMNAGAR, June 23:  Following his verbal duel with MLA Ramnagar in the school classroom, a teacher of Government Higher Secondary School Basantgarh has proceeded on protest leave alleging that he was threatened and assaulted by the law maker.
In response to an explanation, sought from him by the school Principal in wake of   high-voltage drama in the school on June 21, the said teacher namely Pritam Singh, has claimed that MLA Ramnagar R S Pathania entered into the class room and insulted him. “When, I objected and said that I was doing my work honestly and he could not harass a Government employee on duty, the MLA called policemen and his armed PSOs who assaulted me inside the class-room,” the teacher said in his written reply in response to the explanation sought by the Principal.

The teacher further added that the  spectacle of  his  being assaulted and  dragged out of the school class room by uniformed gunmen  was something which was bleeding his  soul, his  conscience,   self-respect and he has  therefore decided to proceed on protest leave.
According to SHO Basantgarh, SI Nasser Naik, there was some verbal duel between the said teacher and MLA Ramnagar, who was inspecting the school and had asked the former to teach properly after some students fail to reply a few questions asked by him. “However, no formal complaint in this regard has been submitted to Police by either the teacher or MLA,” he added.
