REASI, June 11: A Government teacher drowned in Chenab river flowing in Chinkah area of Reasi district, here today.
The deceased was identified as Varun Singh (30), son of Lal Singh, resident of Panasa, tehsil Thakrakote in district Reasi. He was a Government teacher by profession.
The dead body was fished out by the Police party, which rushed to the spot on getting information about the incident. Later, the dead body was shifted to hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities.
Arnas police reached the spot and the dead body was fished taken into their possession. Exact cause of drowning could not be ascertained and an investigation has been initiated in this regard by the Arnas Police.
