TB Eradication Prog at Old Age Home Amphalla

JAMMU, Apr 18: In a significant step towards strengthening public health awareness and preventive healthcare, a “100 days’ Tuberculosis (TB) Eradication Programme” was conducted by the Health Department at the Home for the Aged & Infirm, Amphalla, Jammu.
The programme was organized with the objective of promoting awareness about Tuberculosis (TB), its prevention, early detection, and complete treatment, in alignment with the Government’s mission to eliminate TB.
The programme commenced with a awareness session outlining the key objectives of the nationwide TB eradication campaign. Emphasis was placed on early diagnosis, strict adherence to prescribed treatment, reduction of stigma, and active community participation as critical elements in achieving a TB-free India. The Medical team sensitized the inmates and staff regarding the symptoms of Tuberculosis (TB), availability of diagnostic facilities, and access to free treatment services under Government’s Health Programmes.
The Medical team present on the occasion included- Dr Anu Saloch, District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), Jammu; Dr Kusum Gupta, Medical Officer, District Tuberculosis Centre (DTC); Dr Vandana Abrol; Sanmati Lagotra; and Bindiya Sudhi from UPHC Mubarak Mandi, along with Subash, TB Health Representative (TBHR) accompanied by Varinder Singh and Deepak Gupta, X-Ray Technicians from DTC Jammu, who provided essential screening support and technical assistance during the programme.
Dr BB Sharma, Ex- CMO and presently Medical Officer, Old Age Home briefed and motivated the inmates to come forward for their regular health screening and take due precaution as advised by the doctors. Dr Dinesh Gupta, secretary; Vijay Gupta, joint secretary and Satpal Sharma, MCM of the Home for the Aged & Infirm, were also present on the occasion.
