JAMMU, Apr 18: Army Public School (APS) Ratnuchak organised a vibrant Orientation Programme for Classes I to XII at the Khetarpal Auditorium, bringing together students, parents, and faculty in a shared vision of holistic excellence.
The initiative was designed to align the aspirations of learners and their families with the school’s commitment to academic achievement and overall development.
The programme began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge. The guest of honour delivered an inspiring address through his session titled “Failure to Flight, Preparing to Rise” where he shared his personal journey of perseverance and success, encouraging students to strive for excellence in their chosen paths. He also appreciated the school community for its outstanding Class X CBSE Board results and commended the institution for its exemplary infrastructure and robust sports facilities, including archery, skating, shooting, and fencing.
The keynote address by Mukesh Mahay, Assistant Professor at Lovely Professional University, on the theme “Acceptance to Achievement,” left a lasting impact. He emphasised that while consistent effort is essential, academic scores alone do not define an individual’s worth. He urged students to prioritise character-building over rote learning.
Faculty members further enriched the programme through insightful sessions such as “Right Bite, Bright Minds,” which highlighted the connection between nutrition and mental well-being, and “Challenge Your Boundaries,” which underscored the importance of resilience and pushing beyond limitations.
Principal Sonal Sharma, in her address, inspired both parents and students to adopt a lifelong learning mindset, emphasising the need to balance academic expectations with emotional well-being.
