Taxi Operators Federation warns stir against Ola-Uber services in J&K

JAMMU, Oct 9:  Jammu Province Tourism Taxi Operators Federation and All Jammu Passenger Auto Union have threatened State wide agitation if the Government allows introduction of Ola-Uber services in Jammu Kashmir.
The warning was served in a joint meeting of Jammu Province Tourism Taxi Operators Federation and All Jammu Passenger Auto Union, held here today under the presidium of Anchal Singh Manhas and Inderjeet Singh.
The participants voiced their strong resentment against the State Government’s move, which, they claimed, will directly hit the livelihood of 37069 Autos and 21795 Taxi operators’ families. We are already suffering on account of militancy, floods and direct train to Katra while introducing of Ola-Uber service will ruin us completely,” they explained.
Those who attended the meeting, included Inderjit Sharma (president STTA), Gurdeep Singh ( president Taxi Drivers Association), Shanti Saroop (president Auto Federation Union), Ravi Kumar (president Taxi Operators Union Udhampur) and others.
