JAMMU, July 23: Tax Bar Association observed one day strike and suspended work in various Commercial Taxes offices here today.
Members of the Tax Bar, under the leadership of R A Buchh (president) lodged their protest against the authorities for imposing tax on advocates as consultants by virtue of levy of the same by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Finance Department vide its notification dated March 28, 2013. All the Tax Bar members abstained from the regular appearances before various Commercial Taxes authorities. The J&K High Court Bar also supported the cause.
