JAMMU, Nov 25: Jammu Tawi Welfare Association observed the Martyrs Day of Guru Teg Bahadur at General Bus Stand, here which was attended by a large number of people connected with the transport business.
BJP J&K UT president, Ravinder Raina was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address Raina recalled the sacrifices of Guru Teg Bahadur for the cause of justice and said he fought against the atrocities being inflicted on innocent persons in the name of religion by then cruel rulers.
He cautioned the people against the forces who are working against the interests of the country.
BJP senior leader, Chander Mohan Sharma said that Modi Government at the Centre has planned the honourable and secure settlement of Kashmir Hindus and Sikhs in the Valley and this will be a befitting tribute to Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. He demanded that newly built tunnel be named as Guru Teg Bahadur Tunnel.
JMC Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria also paid rich tribute to Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and recalled his sacrifices for a supreme cause.
Others who paid tributes to Guru Teg Bahadur Ji included Dr Taran Singh, Vikram Singh, Vikrant Dogra , Balwinder Singh Bhatiya, Kulwant Singh Bhatti, Raj Kumar Gupta, Shamsher Singh and Sanjeev Dubey.
