Tawi beautification project to be completed by July

JAMMU, Jan 14: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din reviewed the pace of works on the ongoing Tawi beautification project at a meeting of officers here today.
The meeting discussed progress registered on various fronts of the project. It was given out in the meeting that the project is likely to be completed by July this year.
The Minister impressed upon the engineers to stick to the deadline of the project and complete the remaining works within the set timeline. He said on its completion the project would give aesthetic look to the city.
The 370 meter long barrage would have a design discharge of 4.30 lakh cusecs of water and it would have 31 gates for regulating water.
Commissioner-Secretary, PHE, I&FC, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineer, PHE, Jammu, Chief Engineer, I&FC, Jammu, K. K. Gupta and other senior officers attended the meeting.
