JAMMU, Nov 28: Congress held a public meeting in Devipur Panchayat wherein former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand appealed people to vote for Congress party in the ongoing DDC elections.
The meeting, organized under the leadership of Retd Lecturer, Rachpal Singh Jamwal, was attended by a large number of locals, including women and elderly people.
While addressing the gathering , Tara Chand said that Congress believes in secularism and always promoted equitable development. Urging people to reject the politics of hate, he stressed that Congress is the guarantee for development, peace and growth of common masses.
People of Devipur, present in the meeting, assured their vote and support to the Congress party.
Other senior leaders, present on occasion , included Karnal Singh (Chairman Cooperative Society), Kunj Lal (Ex Panch) , Prem Singh, Prabhu Singh, Suram Singh and Bharat.
