MENDHAR, Jan 11: The villagers from Tappa and adjoining areas held strong protest demonstration against the Power Development Department in the town here today.
These villagers led by some Panchayat members thronged the office of PDD at Mendhar town and staged demonstration. They alleged that a transformer installed at Tappa village got damaged over a month back. Entire area has been badly affected due to snapping of power supply. Despite repeated requests to the local field staff, the transformer was not repaired or replaced.
The villagers after staging protest at PDD office then moved to the office of SDM Mendhar, Ranjit Singh and brought the matter to his notice. The SDM listened to the problem of the villagers and directed the concerned AEE to restore power to the area without any delay.
