JAMMU, Apr 20: Bagh-e-Bahu police arrested a self styled god man (tantrik) for raping a girl on the pretext to cure her from evils.
As per police sources, a girl lodged a complaint with police station Bagh-e-Bahu stating that a self styled god man (tantrik) namely Ashok Kumar, son of Munshi Ram, a resident of Gorkha Nagar raped her on the pretext to cure her from evils.
Acting over the complaint, a case under Section 376 RPC was registered at Bagh-e-Bahu police station and investigation started.
On specific information, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station conducted raid and arrested the accused.
The girl has been restored to family members after conducting medical examination.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bagh-e-Bahu SI Bimal Indu made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
