JAMMU, Aug 18: Police arrested four drug peddlers including a tanker driver along with cannabis and heroin.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Bahu Fort Police Station laid a naka near Panama Chowk and intercepted a tanker.
During frisking, police team recovered around 600 grams of cannabis from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Sohan Lal, son of Shiv Kumar, a resident of District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 206/2020 under Section 8/20/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar, SP South Deepak Digra and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
Meanwhile, a team from Domana Police Station laid a naka and intercepted without registration number auto load carrier, which was on its way towards Jammu from Akhnoor.
During checking, police team recovered 19.70 grams heroin from the possession of three persons traveling in the vehicle and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Parvinder Singh (driver), son of Rajinder Singh of Lower Gadighar near Peer Baba Chandiawala Jammu, Hardeep Singh Thakur, son of Bagwan Singh of Budhal District Rajouri, at present Janipur Colony and Babneet Singh, son of Ajeet Singh of Model Town Gangyal District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 232/2020 under section 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by PSI Kulvinder Dev from Police Station Domana made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
