REASI, Feb 5: Up in arms against the J&K Administration and shouting slogans in favour of their demands, Talwara migrants held a strong protest demonstration against government in Reasi area here today.
Shouting slogans, the protesting people took out a protest march in Talwara and sat on dharna. They blocked main road leading to Siarh Baba near STC, Talwara for around one hour.
They were demanding improvement in facilities to the colony of Talwara migrants, other facilities being given to Kashmiri migrants, induction of new members in the migrant list, job opportunities to youth at par Kashmiri migrants, regular electricity and water supply, repairing of quarters etc.
Later, the protestors dispersed peacefully and threatened to launch strong agitation if their demands are not met at the earliest. They also submitted a memorandum to District Administration for the Lt Governor, M K Sinha. Several senior members addressed the gathering and projected their issues.
