Tale of my M Form

Sir,
Submission of  M forms  made mandatory for migrants to acquire eligibility to cast  their  votes  in Parliamentary bye- election 2017  proved  a very painful exercise for me  and disgraceful as well . The last date for submitting the said forms was extended by Assistant Returning Officer (M) to 1st April,2017 for 2-srinagar contituency  as per notification published in  the Daily Excelsior dt: 31st March,2017 . Revealing   my personal experience  I  collected the M  form from Muthi centre, confirmed my name in the voter list available there, filled the M form and then staightway rushed from Roopnagar Muthi  to the concerned  Zonal Office ( dealing with Sarwal Zone) located at Talab Tilloo behind State Bank Of India for submission of the said form. To my utter disgust and the dismay   of some other  migrants waiting outside,  the Zonal Office functioning in one big shop stood closed at 3.20 pm with its shutters down and locked.  Waiting helplessly to submit their forms, the waiting  migrants left the office relunctantly but a few of them including me managed to rush to the Election Office located at Shanker building, Akhnoor road. The officials present there expressed their inability to accept our forms. Being disgusted the persons accompanying me decided to go back except one gentle man . From Shanker building  I hired an auto and tried to reach the office of Relief Commissioner (Migrants), canal road in time fearing that the office hours shall  come to close. On reaching the office I contacted the P. A of Commissioner to seek his help. Being busy his response was weak and meek.  Being frustrated  When I wanted to see the Commissioner personally, the attendant standing at the gate  stopped me saying that the Commissioner was busy doing some serious work but at the sametime  he  was kind enough to suggest me to go upstairs and talk to officials there. Finding my fore head sweating profusely and eyes sunken  the two young officials, busy  checking forms in the hall, took pity on me,accepted my forms and asked me if i needed water to drink. The gracious attitude of two young officials working even after office hours in the office instilled hope in me and filled my heart with some optimisicm.
Yours etc…..
