Take strict action against narcotic smugglers: IGP to officers

JAMMU, Jan 15: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana impressed upon the officers to launch massive drive against drugs and narcotics smugglers and take strict action them.
He stated this during a meeting in Bishnah today. IGP was accompanied by SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal. The meeting was also attended by citizens representing all segments of the society including advocates, sarpanches, panchs, numberdars, market association leaders, business community and owners of brick kilns of the area. Apart from them, SDM Bishnah, Tehsildar Bishnah, SDPO RS Pura, all SHOs, incharge BPPs and VDC members of Sub-Division RS Pura were also present.
During the meeting, the people highlighted their problems and also gave many valuable suggestions.
While speaking, IGP Jammu assured that they will look into the problems highlighted and will provide required solution at the earliest.
He requested the people to respect the law of the land and help the police department in prevention and detection of crime. He added that J&K Police has taken various programmes to prevent the narcotics and drug menace from the society and special focus on the development of the youth by involving them in sports activities and community issues.
IGP exhorted upon the people to maintain the peace in the area and help police to get the timely information about any suspicious movements.
The people ensured to extend their full support to police in prevention and detection of crime by providing timely information about the bad elements in the society.
IGP Jammu Zone directed SDPO RS Pura, all SHOs, IC BPPs and other supervising officers of Sub-Division RS Pura to launch a massive drive against drugs and narcotics and take strict action against the persons involved in the crime.
