UDHAMPUR, Sept 28: Holding the State Government responsible for pushing the State into anarchy in toto, senior NPP leader and former minister Harshdev Singh has said that the BJP owes an explanation to the people of Jammu Pradesh on the promise of “Achhey Din” which despicably proved to be hollow slogan emanating odour of betrayal, duplicity and deceit.
Addressing public meeting at Majalta and Thalora today, Singh said that the BJP which turned a blind eye towards the issues of the people, miserably failed to project them inside and outside the Assembly. It only bothered to keep sinister alliance intact with the PDP to satiate its greed for power.
Asserting that the BJP-PDP Govt in the State proved disastrous and ominous to the overall governance, Singh said that civil unrest, corruption, loot and plunder, pilferage besides other vices flourished leaps and bounds. He said that the corruption in particular had extended its span all over in all the departments. He said that the element of ‘fear’ was literally missing in the current administration and the situation which was almost normal prior to the last elections had rapidly deteriorated during the past 19 months ever since the new dispensation took over.
Regarding the local issues of tehsil Majalta, Singh expressed grave concern over the stalled development with dilapidated roads, defunct power supply system, dry hand pumps and water supply schemes and unchecked corruption and pilferage in CAPD department leading to acute shortage of ration supply for the daily consumption of the people. He lambasted the incumbent TSO for his unscrupulous indulgence in brazen pilferage of ration/ grains to the mills located outside his jurisdiction.
While flaying the dilapidated condition of the roads in Majalta and Majalta-Peoni road in particular, he divulged that the strip had been lying in shambles and was causing inconvenience to the vehicular traffic and general commuters. He further said that people also pooled money for the replacement and repair of defective transformers to ensure power supply in their households. He demanded that Aadhar Cards be issued to the left out people.
