SRINAGAR, May 4: Police Headquarter (PHQ) was formally opened here today.
The Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh inspected offices at Police Headquarters here today and chaired officers meeting.
He also visited Armed Police Headquarter (APHQ) to take stock of the opening of the offices of the Unit. He also chaired a meeting at APHQ, as well.
In the morning, the DGP J&K visited PHQ where he was received by senior police officers of the Police organisation. He was presented ceremonial guard of honour by a contingent of Armed Police.
The meeting of senior police officers was attended by ADGP CID Dr B Srinivas, ADGP Armed AK Choudhary, SSP Security Imtiyaz Mir, SP Arms/Ammunition Gulzar Ahmad and other Gazetted Officers. The meeting at APHQ was attended by ADGP Armed, COs of Armed/IRP Battalion and other officers.
While chairing these meetings, the DGP said that a recent survey has reported huge jump of people’s trust on police throughout the nation. “We need to work towards further improving people’s trust in us everyday.
The DGP said that over 15000 police personnel working as frontline Corona warriors are fighting with determination at various COVID care centres including high risk zone.
DGP directed the officers to take all precaution and measures in sanitizing and decontaminating the office buildings in Kashmir regularly. He said that the required accommodation for the employees working in these camp offices are being provided keeping in consideration all the health protocols.
Dilbag Singh stressed upon the officers to take all the preventive measures in strengthen the security grid. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police along with other security agencies are fighting on multiple fronts and need of the hour is to strengthen and augment the security grid. He said that anti-national elements are always looking for the loopholes and their motive to disturb the peace has to be dealt with firmly.
The officers gave a detailed briefing about the working of their Units/offices and personnel on different fronts.
