JAMMU, Dec 14: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din reviewed the status of ongoing schemes in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control sectors in Billawar at a meeting of officers and engineers today.
Minister of State for Planning & Finance, Dr. Manohar Lal, who represents Billawar Assembly constituency was also present in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister impressed upon the engineers to complete all ongoing schemes in a time bound schedule so that people get the benefits. He asked the engineers to undertake work on a scheme when fully assured about the dependability of a source.
The meeting was told that 23 PHE schemes of various categories are under execution in Billawar of which many are targeted for completion during the current fiscal. These schemes are expected to cost Rs. 42.22 crore out of which Rs. 29.37 crore stand expended till March 2012.
The meeting was also told that Rs. 10.56 crore have been released for various schemes in Kathua district.
Commissioner-Secretary, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Chief Engineer, PHE, Jammu, Ashwani Sharma, senior officers and engineers were present in the meeting.
