Taj, Mir ask participants to be ambassadors of peace

JAMMU, Dec 26: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din and Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir today inaugurated 5-day National Integration Camp at Mubarak Mandi here.
The camp has been organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Jammu in collaboration with Youth Services and Sports and Tourism Departments, besides cooperation from the district administration.
Over 300 youth from ten States including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttaranchal, Utter Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and J&K are attending the camp.
On the occasion, the NYK delegates presented a colourful programme depicting the culture identity of their respective States.
Featuring folk dance and music, the programme received much applause from every one present on the occasion.
Addressing the youth delegates on the occasion, the Youth Services and Sports Minister, Taj Mohi-ud-Din called upon them to act as ambassadors to spread awareness about the rich culture, language, traditions and heritage of the host State back at their home States.
“Youth need to inculcate in them the ideals shown by great leaders of the country like Mahatma Gandhi and have to spread the message of mutual co-existence and brotherhood,” he exhorted. He said the younger generation has special role in nation building and future of the nation was on their shoulders. He said youth are future leaders, bureaucrats and citizens of the country and they have to get actively involved in various social activities to bring a positive change in the system.
Minister for Tourism called upon the participants to work for modern India and play their important role in fulfilling the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Rajiv Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. He said NYK deserves a special accolade as it has made possible the integration of varied cultures and traditions of the country.
Highlighting the importance of holding such camps, he said exchange of ideas and people to people contact was key towards attaining a common vision to make the world a better place to live. He asked the youth to work hard and help the country to keep pace with the   world.
The Tourism Minister also announced a Patnitop trip for the guest participants, adding that in this regard the boarding and lodging facilities would be provided free by Tourism and Youth Services Departments.
Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Naveen Kumar Agerwal, Director Tourism, Jammu, Sujanaya Kumar Sharma also spoke on the occasion and highlighted aim and objective of organizing the camp
Zonal Director, NYKS  Nabin Kumar Naik,  District Coordinator, Jammu, Nisar Ahmad Azad, District Coordinator of various Districts, besides Senior Officers of Youth Services and Sports, Tourism Department, District Administration, Students and large number of people participated in the function.
Meanwhile, the Ministers also visited the photo exhibition, organized by local journalists at Mubarak Mandi.
