JAMMU, Feb 16: Minister for Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din today admitted in the Legislative Assembly that laboratory tests in the Government Medical College, Jammu were not up to the mark and that some tests had to be conducted from outside.
Responding to CPM MLA MY Tarigami, who was recently admitted in CCU of the Medical College following chest pain, Taj said he has repeatedly been pursing with the Finance Minister for increase in non-plan funds for the Medical Colleges or allowing revolving funds for it to meet the requirements of the Medical Colleges to upgrade the infrastructure.
Taj said he was taking the issue to the Cabinet.
Mr Tarigami said during his admission in the GMC he found that the laboratory tests were not being trusted and the patients had to go outside for some tests.
