JAMMU, Feb 16: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Sunday said that Jammu will soon have a full-fledged 18-hole golf course at Sidhra as the existing nine-hole one is being upgraded and expanded on fast track.
Speaking at the concluding function of Golf Tournament here this evening, the Chief Minister said that Golf is gaining popularity in the State and Jammu and Kashmir is emerging as a big attraction for golfers of the country and outside. He said Golf courses at Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Jammu and the coming up one at Leh are unique golf locations in the world providing golfers the opportunity of playing in different climatic and geographical conditions.
Omar said his Government is paying focussed attention on promoting potential of the State for sports and adventure tourism.
He further said young talent in the State in different sports are being provided opportunities and avenues to excel and make name in the sports arena at national and international levels.
Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad and the legislator and Provincial President National Conference, Jammu, Devender Singh Rana were present on the occasion.
