JAMMU, Feb 8: State Vigilance Organization has yet not completed investigation into acts of omissions/commissions in the implementation of Roshni Scheme.
“On the basis of the report submitted by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, the Vigilance Organization is investigating some issues of alleged omissions/commissions in the implementation of Roshni Scheme. However, the outcome of the investigation is yet to be known”, Minister for Revenue Abdul Rehman Veeri said in the written reply to the question of Udhampur MLA Pawan Gupta in the Legislative Assembly.
Though the Minister provided district wise details of the State/Nazool land transferred under the J&K State Lands (Vesting of Ownership to the Occupants) Act, 2001 commonly known as Roshni Scheme yet very limited information vis-à-vis particulars of the beneficiaries was provided on the ground of being voluminous.
About the steps taken for removal of encroachments from water bodies, the Minister said, “no specific survey has been conducted so far with regard to the encroachments on land recorded as water bodies”.
However, the Minister said that no construction, sale or purchase of land of water bodies is being allowed. “Instructions have also been issued to the field functionaries for strict implementation of the court orders to prevent the construction/illegal sale of the land recorded as natural nullahs/water bodies”, he added.
