JAMMU, May 6: State Vigilance Organization has produced challan against Brij Bhushan Sharma, the then MD J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation and six others for misappropriation of funds.
Challan in Case FIR No. 14/2013 P/S VOJ, pertaining to alleged misappropriation of funds by J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation Ltd Jammu on account of purchase of land measuring 1559.1 Kanals situated at village Kaluchak and Dilli, adjoining Apna Vihar Colony Jammu, was produced in the Anti-Corruption Court Jammu.
Investigation conducted into the allegations, revealed that Brij Bhushan Sharma, the then Managing Director, J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation Ltd Jammu, Chander Shekhar of Channi Himmat Jammu and others conspired among themselves and in pursuance thereof, misappropriated an amount of Rs 57.65 lakhs on account of purchases of land measuring 1559.1 Kanals situated at village Kalu Chak and Deeli adjacent to Apna Vihar Jammu.
Investigation further revealed that accused persons procured a loan amount to Rs 648.57 lakh at first installment out of sanctioned loan amounting to Rs 810.70 lakh from HUDCO for acquiring land for building colonies but the proposed land measuring 1559.1 Kanals, for which loan amount was sanctioned and released, was never acquired/taken into possession by the J&K CHC Ltd though the entire loan amount was either exhausted for other purpose or personal gains.
As such Case FIR No. 14/2013 P/S VOJ was registered in Vigilance Organization u/s 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) of J&K PC Act Svt2006 and Section 467, 468, 471 & 120-B RPC. Accordingly, challan has been produced in the Court of Special . Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu against accused Brij Bhushan Sharma, then MD J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation Ltd, Chander Shekhar Sharma of Channi Himmat Jammu (Private Contractor), Rafiq Ahmed of Narwal Bala Jammu (Property Dealer), S P Bhatti of 35 Apna Vihar Kunjwani Jammu (Director J&K Cooperative House Building Society),
Vijay Sharma of Apna Vihar Kunjwani Jammu (Secretary J&K Cooperative House Building Society), P S Bali of 15 Apna Vihar Kunjwani Jammu (Director J&K Cooperative House Building Society) and Sewa Ram of village Gurha Brahmana, Muthi, Jammu.
